Churches Together in Hall Green (CTHG), formerly known as Hall Green Council of Churches, was established over 50 years ago to work towards Christian Unity between different denominations of the local Christian Church, at a time when there was increasing national recognition that denominational divisions were damaging and hindered the work of Christ in the church and the world.

Through CTHG, the Hall Green Churches are united in proclaiming their faith in the One God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The churches recognise their rich variety of Christian tradition and seek to share these riches positively, working together for the unity of Christ’s people in Hall Green.

The churches worship together a number of times during the year, and collectively organise some activities that are too big for just the individual churches, or are more appropriately shared between the churches.

CTHG supports united youth work in Hall Green, and has also set up a Hall Green Churches Child Contact Centre to facilitate non-resident parents spending time with their children in some situations where the parents no longer live together.

Joint discussion meetings and study sessions are organised, particularly a series of home discussion groups during Lent. Additionally, the work of the Bible Society in providing Bibles for people around the world, who may not otherwise have access to the Scriptures, is strongly supported through a Bible Society Action Group.

The churches seek to work together for peace and justice, sometimes through special projects. They are also committed to fostering good relations and understanding with other faith communities in Hall Green.

St Peter's Parish Prayer

God of grace and truth, you love the world and everyone in it, and you know our needs before we ask. Shower upon us at St Peter's your blessings. Fill us with your Spirit that we may draw others to worship with us here, so that your kingdom of love, justice, mercy and peace may grow, for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
