The Boys’ Brigade at St.Peter’s Church

 

The Boys' Brigade is a Christian uniformed youth organization for Boys and young men aged 5 to 18 years. First formed in 1883 the BB is the oldest voluntary uniformed young persons group.  The BB is also the largest Christian youth organisation in the UK.  The Boys' Brigade has a proven record of encouraging leadership skills with young adults, taking part in the Duke Of Edinburgh award scheme and the Millennium Volunteers programme.

Younger Boys are not forgotten with Annual Brigade Camp - a weeks holiday for those in year 6 +, weekends away for both Junior and Company Sections. Pantomimes, bugle band and other events.  Outings, badges, sports, and inter Company activities all done in a Christian caring atmosphere.

We offer a balanced programme of activities, which develop as the Boy becomes older.

While The Boys' Brigade is a Christian, all Boys are welcome to join of any or no faith.

The 80th Birmingham Company based at St.Peter's Church is one of the largest Companies in Birmingham. 

Anchor Boys
Reception years 1 and 2 Monday 6.10 - 7.10 p.m.
Junior Section   years 3 4 and 5 Thursday 6.00 - 7.30 p.m.
Company Section year 6 + Thursdays 7.30 - 9.30 p.m.

The successful BB/GB Band meets on a Monday 7.00 - 8.00 p.m. When we offer free musical training with both percussion and brass instruments.

Part of The Boys' Brigade is St.Peter's AMICUS Group, meeting on a Monday 8.00 - 10.00 p.m. AMICUS is a non uniformed mixed group for young men and Women 14 to 22 years.

 

The Object of The Boys’ Brigade is:-

The advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.
