Welcome to St Peter’s website.  We are a church committed to showing the love of God in service to the local community, in worship and prayer, and in care for one another.

As members of the worldwide Anglican church, rooted here in Birmingham, we are also dedicated to sharing in friendship and support fellow Christians in Churches Together in Hall Green.

Our hope is that we become more and more a church at the heart of our local community, meeting needs in God’s name, and proclaiming his kingdom of love, forgiveness, healing, justice and peace. We expect to see signs of that kingdom in many different people and places.

We are not perfect, just travellers on the road hoping to do our best!

We hope you find the information you are looking for.  Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Martin Stephenson, Vicar

At the Annual Parochial Church Meeting on 30th April, we elected Kay and Martin as Churchwardens for a further year. The following people were elected to the PCC; Helen Glithero, Mal James. Angela Jefferies, Sonia Miller, Edward Tongue and Julia Tortise. David Andrews, Colin Dunbar and Conrad James were elected to the Deanery Synod.

Study Course – The study course, led by Ben Benedikz, due to take place this month, has been postponed.

New Curate – As I announced recently, the Bishop has decided to offer Jo a post in the Diocese which he expects her to take up some time in the Autumn (nothing can be confirmed at this stage). This means that we have been asked to welcome Joycelyn Lewis as our new curate beginning this Summer. Joycelyn, who is training at Queen’s College in Birmingham, will be ordained Deacon on June 29th. We very much look forward to Joycelyn’s arrival. She will work with Jo and Michael and other members of our team while I am on sabbatical. I will return on September 1st and we expect that Jo will leave some time in October, when Joycelyn will move into 4 Etwall Road. Please pray for Joycelyn and Jo at this time of change for them and their families.   ...Martin
